her writing-a-rec-fest-diary virginity, to be exact ...
I lost it because of this amazing entry by long-time community member, but first-time diarist, evelette. The modest title of her diary debut, Health Care Series: When healthcare works, doesn't even give a hint of the power that lies therein.
evelette, a healthcare provider, details her personal experience as, for the first time, a patient, facing a scary diagnosis.
I urge you to read and rec evelette's diary, for the writing, for the personal strength, for the courage and information, insight and inspiration it may give you. And please share it.
It also beautifully illustrates the need for accessible, excellent healthcare for all. As evelette shares with us, the CEO of the small, rural, non-profit clinic where she works believes so strongly in universal healthcare, that this is her email signature:
"I believe health care is a right, not a privilege; that this country can and should be providing health care in its most broad definition to all residents without any condition other than a qualified practitioner determining care is necessary to develop that persons safe passage through their life and into their death."
Amen.
Now please go read, rec and share one of the most outstanding diaries I've read in five years here!
Gratitudes to evelette!
Namaste.
