Just a quickie diary. Key points:
- I support Bernie.
- Not a huuuge (or is that yuuuge?) fan of Hillary, even though she was one of my Senators.
- Yes, I believe we live in an oligarchy, but still I want Democrats to retain the White House. There is a difference between the two parties on issues that are very important to me as an ultra-lefty.
- Ultimately, what I want is a peaceful world, where all people feel free and are free to be themselves.
- I think that anger—even righteous anger, if not ultimately driven by compassion for all beings—is destructive and at cross-purposes with building a peaceful world that benefits all beings … and therefore I will not engage in any kind of pie-fight and I don’t condone them. Stop it! Let’s all be kind to one another! If you want a peaceful world, build it moment by moment!
- When you are trying to persuade people to vote for Bernie, be sure to ask them if they are registered to vote and if they are not, send them here, so they can register to vote, especially in the Democratic primary.
- When you are trying to persuade people to vote for Hillary, be sure to ask them if they are registered to vote and if they are not, send them here, so they can register to vote, especially in the Democratic primary.
So, what should all Bernie—and Hillary—diaries include?
This link—or any other—that educates people about how to register to vote and makes it easy for them.
Many people in this country and the world over have suffered and even died in order to be able to vote. Help people register to vote! (Especially if they’re going to vote Democratic—Hey! I may be a Buddhist, but I am in no way enlightened and am still partial to Democrats while I’m bound in samsara!)
After reading this comment by eagleray, I’m updating the diary with this non-partisan, non-candidate specific voter registration site: Rock the Vote. They’ve been doing excellent voter registration work for 25 years!
May all beings be free from suffering! May they know true peace!
